MENOPAUSE PHASES

Hormonal loss does not take place abruptly. In the majority of women, there is a first phase known as Pre menopause, in which a transition to menopause takes place over a period of approximately 5 years, although it can be shorter and appear sooner in smokers or women that suffer from stress, as well as in women who have undergone womb or ovarian surgery.
During Pre menopause, various changes take place that can affect both a woman's physical rhythm: a prolongation of the time between menstruations, vasomotor systems, skin and vaginal dryness, a change in the distribution of corporal mass and the beginning of bone-mass loss; as well as psychological aspects, such as emotional changes, depression, anxiety, or loss of concentration at work.

Afterwards, Menopause appears, beginning on the date of her last menstruation, that being the sign of a new stage in the life of a woman, in which her reproductive capability disappears and which lasts until Post menopause the stage which precedes that of old age.

Nevertheless, all these stages are part of natural and evolutionary adaptive phenomena, and can be treated in accordance to the symptomatological intensity to continue enjoying a fulfilling life throughout this transition.
